We offers a door to door service along the length of the Sir Walter Scott Way & the SUW from Beattock eastwards based on the route being undertaken in 6 stages.
The costs are fixed regardless of the accommodation selected with the exception of a stop over in the Ettrick Valley where a supplement of £15 / £20 (Tushielaw / Potburn) will be charge based on considerable additional mileage being required by our vehicle.
The prices detailed below are based on providing the service for walkers travelling in a west to east direction along the route. We will also handle walkers in the reverse direction however there may have to be a small supplementary charge based on additional time and mileage. Please contact us for details if this is the preferred direction for your walk.

2009 Prices
We will be structuring the 2009 prices in a similar manner to those shown below for 2008. We are not able at this time to set the exact rate as there is still some volatility in the price of fuel. Until we publish the new rates we will accept bookings for 2009 and hold to the 2008 rates shown below so long as the deposit has been paid.
2008 Prices
There is a minimum charge of £100, this allowing for up to 2 items of luggage being transferred over the six stages.
For additional items between 3 and 4 the cost will be £45 per item
For additional items between 5 and 8 the cost will be £40 per item.
For additional items above 9 the cost will be £35 per item

If the route is being shortened or extra stops are being introduced the costs offered will be pro-rata to these above with the exception of the minimum that will remain fixed at £100

Southern Upland Way*
WalkingSupport is able to offer a complete baggage transfer service for those undertaking the whole Southern Upland Way in a single continuous walk based on 13 stages for the sum of £240 for up to 2 items of luggage. We will handle all the arrangements for the walker but will in this extended service make partial us of another contractor to handle the western half of the route.

General Conditions
The item is defined as a single piece of luggage not exceeding 15kg. If the weight is exceeded Walking Support is entitled to charge a supplement.
The luggage needs to be available for collection in the morning by 9.15 am and we will have it delivered to the next address by 5.30 pm at latest, but we would hope that this could be in many cases much earlier.
The service operates between Easter and the end of September. Services outside this period will be considered dependent on demand.
The responsibility for insurance of the luggage in transit rests with the individual and not with the carrier. We therefore recommend that you do not include items of value or items that are easily damaged. Walking Support can advise you regarding low cost comprehensive holiday insurance that includes luggage protection.

In the case of large groups special rates can be quoted.
All prices are inclusive of VAT
A deposit of 25% of the cost is required at the time of booking. This is non refundable. The balancing sum must be paid in advance of the start date or, with agreement with Walking Support, be available for collection with the bag/s at the first pick-up point.
To assist individuals making payment for any of our services we are able to accept cash, cheque, BACs payments or on-line card payment.
Payment Cards

On the latter on-line transaction we require to apply a 3.9% transaction fee to cover our costs of such a money transfer. All payments are to be in £ (sterling) and where there is an international client with currency transfer costs these have to be carried by the payer along with any payer and payee bank charges.
Payment is through our registered trading business SCSupport Ltd and we will either issue you with a VAT Invoice in advance of payment or a VAT Receipt on receipt of a payment.
